I will overwhelm 'credible fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" the American as the pair confronted each other to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex two-time unified heavyweight champion Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I will injure his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

In spite of these statements, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British rival Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's largest financial successes, frequently receiving substantial paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Physical Difference

As both boxers participated in the usual confrontation, with their physical disparity evident, it highlighted just how improbable this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
